Putnam Co. To Apply For Community Development Block Grant

The Putnam County Commission has approved a recommendation to apply for a Community Development Block Grant this year.

County Executive Randy Porter said if awarded the grant, he hopes to use the funding to replace one of the county’s fire trucks.

“Last year we applied to replace the fire truck at Cumberland Cove and we did not get the grant,” Porter said. “Since we’ve already done all the leg work and everything, we won’t have to do anything but re-apply.”
