Putnam County will host its 16th annual 9/11 Reflect and Remember ceremony Monday.
Putnam County Clerk Wayne Nabors has served as the emcee since the event began.
“Ever since 2002 we have had a 9/11 Reflect and Remember, so this year there will be another event coming up Monday night at 7 p.m.,” Nabors said.
Nabors said those first events were held at the fairgrounds, but in recent years, it’s moved to the courthouse. This year, the event will be held at 7 p.m. on the Jefferson Avenue side of the courthouse. The road will be blocked for the event, he said.
“Just want to invite everybody to come and be a part of it, it’s open to all folks and we just invite you to come, bring a lawn chair, the folks from Woodmen of the World are coming to assist with that they’ll have some refreshments there,” Nabors said.
Nabors said his favorite part of the event each year is the large American flag unfurled by the Cookeville Fire Department.
