Public Hearing Set for Rezoning Three Cookeville Properties

Cookeville City Council approved holding a public hearing on December 10 for three different rezoning ordinances.

The first involves 7.68 acres of land on Tennessee Avenue. The land would be rezoned from commercial industrial mixed used to heavy manufacturing. This is a city-owned piece of land being considered by an unnamed business prospect.

A proposed subdivision on Bunker Hill Road calls for the rezoning of three properties on Bunker Hill Road from low-density residential, to low to moderate density residential. The third rezoning ordinance hearing is for a portion of a parcel on Neal Street and East Veterans. This parcel is regional commercial currently, and could become general commercial.

Council voted Thursday to hold all three public hearings at the December 10 meeting. Council approved rescheduling the December City Council Meeting and cancelling a second meeting. The December 3 regularly scheduled city council meeting will be set for December 10. The December 17 meeting has been cancelled.
