The Cookeville Planning Commission approved the preliminary plat of a new residential development off Highway 70.
Community Development Director Jon Ward said the proposed Ashbury Farms Subdivision will be approximately 5.14 acres and feature townhomes.
“The plat depicts the construction of two new private streets, proposed as Foxwood Landing and Waylen Way as shown on the plat,” Ward said. “Water for the development is to be public, and sewer will be private. The fire department has indicated existing hydrants and a proposed hydrant will be acceptable for fire protection coverage.”
Ward said each home will have its own storage unit. He said the proposed plat is adjacent to the recently constructed Dollar General on West Broad Street.
He said a sewer capacity availability assurance program form was approved by the water quality control department.
The board unanimously approved the plat, subject to the conditions set at a plat review meeting on June 13th.
