Lunchtime thunderstorms across the northern tier of the Upper Cumberland Sunday have produced several thousand power outages.
Volunteer Energy reports roughly nine percent of its customers in Fentress County without power, or about 1130 customers. The biggest pockets of outages are just north of Jamestown and in the Pogue Creek area.
About 900 customers are without power in Pickett County, along state route 325 between Byrdstown and the Fentress County line. Crews are working to restore power as of 2pm Sunday.
In northern Overton County, near the Clay, Pickett and Fentress County lines, several hundred customers are without power. Upper Cumberland Electric working to restore power to areas right around the lake.
Trees reported down in the Moss area of Clay County as the storms began their march across the Upper Cumberland around 10am Sunday morning.
