Polls Open For Election Day For Mayor and Aldermen In Celina

It is election day in Celina.

Voters will decide who will fill the office of mayor as well as three seats on the Board Of Aldermen. Election Administrator Monica Davis said the polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

“They need to be a resident of the city of Celina, and they will go to the Clay County Government Complex,” Davis said. “They need to have their photo ID, and all the voting for the city will be down in the complex.”

Davis said if someone is not registered to vote, they can file a provisional voting ballot. Davis said the most important thing to have with you on Election Day is your photo ID.

“It’s looking more like normal,” Davis said. “We’ll still have the safety precautions, and we’ll have masks available, hand sanitizer and we’re still taking some precautions, but it is not as strict as last year during the presidential election.”

Davis said unregistered voters can always change that by coming to the election office on Cordell Hull Drive.
