Podcast Launched For Lake Lovers, First Timers

Upper Cumberland lake lovers can get their Dale Hollow Lake fix with a new podcast.

The Dale Hollow Lake Podcast is hosted by Richard and Nathan DeVries. Nathan DeVries said working at East Point Marina the idea came out of all the questions they get from both locals and first timers.

“We have people who come into our marina all the time and ask us about fishing, where they can get their boat worked on,” DeVries said. “Where are good places to eat around the lake, even places that aren’t even on the lake, just in the surrounding counties.”

Richard DeVries said they wanted to get these conversations about the lake going because sometimes people take things right in their backyard for granted. DeVries said his son Nathan is going to show the more romantic side of the lake.

“One of the segments that we’re going to have is Date Night on Dale Hollow,” DeVries said. “So the two of them are going to do things around the lake. Not only at the marinas, but around the lake as well, to show people where they can have fun anywhere around the lake.”

Nathan DeVries said one of his ideas is to give people a look at the people who keep the marinas going.

“Me and some of the employees from the dock, I’d love to get together and just highlight our jobs,” DeVries said. “What we do on the lake, things that we experience whether it’s a funny story or how you can get into working on the lake. We have a really good time, I mean there’s days that are really, really tough but overall we have an amazing time. Our office is the lake.”

The plan for the Dale Hollow Lake podcast is to release new episodes every Thursday. The show can be found on YouTube, Spotify, Apple and Amazon podcasts.
