The Pickett County Industrial Board will begin accepting bids this Friday for Byrdstown’s downtown revitalization project.
County Executive Richard Daniel said about 10 downtown businesses will receive exterior upgrades with a $100,000 state assets enhancement grant and a partnership with locally operated People’s Bank.
“We’re talking major change because the appearance of downtown will not even be the same,” Daniel said. “A lot of these renovations we are looking at are not expensive.”
Daniel said the project will also add more greenery to the downtown area.
The board will be accepting bids until November 9th and the county will open bids November 13th.
