Pickett County Receives Grant To Fund Improvements To Court Facilities

Add Pickett County to the list of Upper Cumberland counties that have received a courtroom security grant from the Administrative Office of the Courts in Nashville.

County Executive Richard Daniel said the $26,042 grant will improve courtroom security. Daniel said Pickett County received the grant because the current courtroom does not meet the minimum courtroom security standards.

The new equipment will be transferred to the new Pickett County Jail and Justice Center upon completion of that facility.

A 10-percent match will be required by the county or about $2,604 dollars.

Facility improvements will get underway in 2018.
