The strawberries are red, ripe and soon will be ready to pick at Amazin’ Acres in Sparta.
Amazin’ Acres Jimmy McCulley said families can come enjoy the farm and start picking strawberries as early as next week.
“We do have a good strawberry crop this year,” McCulley said. “I would like to throw out there that we have a lot of people calling wanting strawberries. We have been blessed and overwhelmed from people calling. This is the start of our season, so be patient and bear with us.”
McCulley said their farm will limit the amount of people on their farm and encourage at least six feet between all visitors. Cashiers will also have a curtain between them and the customer.
“I don’t see anyone being in a great risk while being out here in the open air and keeping safe distances,” McCulley said.
McCulley said the strawberry season usually peaks at the end of May. Once White County reopens, Amazin’ Acres plan to host a family day one Saturday in May. McCulley said their Farm Adventures will be available on the family day.
“It is a good experience for kids to come out on the farm and see how their food is grown,” McCulley said. “It would be a good experience for the family to come out.”
