A DeKalb County judge has sentenced a man to serve six years in prison for his role in a 2013 officer involved shooting.
58-year-old Randy Gerald Petty entered a plea this week to two counts of attempted aggravated assault.
His charges stem from a May 2013 incident in which he allegedly pointed a scoped rifle at two deputies responding to a call of shots fired at a Petty Road residence.
The deputies drew their weapons and fired, striking Petty several times. He later recovered from his wounds.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for September 11 to determine how Petty will serve the six-year sentence.
