A 38-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in DeKalb County Monday night.
A medical helicopter airlifted Jamie Carroll following the incident that took place on Highway 56.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Carroll was struck by a northbound Dodge Dakota Pickup truck driven by 21-year-old James Messina of Smithville.
Authorities said Carroll was wearing dark clothing as she walked northbound and Messina was unable to see Carroll.
No charges have been filed at this time.
