Putnam County Schools opening kindergarten pre-enrollment for the next school year on Tuesday.
Putnam Schools Attendance Supervisor Chris Pierce said the enrollment process starts with a link on the school system’s website. He said the submission form goes live at 8 a.m.
“It’s a very brief form we’re getting basic information to make contact with that family to set up a meeting,” Pierce said. “Either during the normal kindergarten enrollment night which is April 11th or another night that satisfies the parent.”
Pierce said one question more frequently asked by parents include what documents are needed. He said they will need to supply two examples for proof of Putnam County residence, vaccination records, an up-to-date physical, and a birth certificate.
“And secondly, the other question: it’s what are my school options,” Pierce said. “And we do have several lottery options for incoming kindergarteners at I think seven schools. So that list is posted on our website and the process as well.”
Pierce said enrollment will also open for returning students.
