PCSS Graduations Begin Friday With No Limits On Capacity

The big day is almost here for Putnam County High School Seniors.

High School Curriculum Supervisor Sharon Anderson said Upperman High School will kickoff the three graduations 6:00 p.m. Friday at Tucker Stadium.

“Cookeville High School will graduate at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning May 22nd,” Anderson said. “And, Monterey High School will round out the ceremonies on Sunday May 23rd at 2:00 p.m.”

Anderson said there will be no limit on the number of people who can attend. Anderson said every person entering the stadium must wear a mask until they are seated.

“Everyone is welcome to attend, however, as a requirement for the use of Tennessee Tech’s facilities, everyone must wear a mask when entering the stadium and until they are seated,” Anderson said. “If  they are up moving about the stadium, they should have a mask.”

Anderson said every other row of seating will be marked off and graduates will be socially distanced on the field. Anderson said rain delay dates are currently being evaluated and will be shared later this week.”

Anderson said the school system also has a first this year. The Flex Learning Center will host its first graduation Thursday at Cookeville’s Life Church at 6:00 p.m. Anderson said the program originally was formed for adult learners but has expanded to high school students that do not flourish in a typical classroom.
