Overton Schools Giving Out Supplies And Registration Packets Monday

Overton Schools giving students and parents free school supplies and registration papers at Monday’s Back To School Bash.

Director of Schools Donnie Holman said each school in the system is participating in the drive-through event. Where ever your student will attend classes is where you should go to receive the items.

“One other big purpose of this is the parents will be able to pick up the registration packets for their children that day as well,” Holman said. “When they go through, they can get their registration packets, and then on registration day, they won’t have to come.”

Holman said each student can get a free backpack full of basic supplies depending on the school. Holman said parents can drive through from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

“Everyone is welcome,” Holman said. “If you do not come to the back to school bash, we by all means want to see you one registration day, so we know that you are attending school this year and that our numbers are correct. It is very important that people attend one or the other.”

Overton School registration day happens on August 4th. Holman said the system has prepared all summer for the upcoming school year and expect a lot of academic growth.

“We have extra personnel at each school this year to help us with the learning loss from last year’s pandemic,” Holman said. “We have numerous large detailed plans in place to help address those  issues. We are looking forward to se ehow much progress we can make.”
