Overton Schools Extends Summer Feeding Program Through End Of July

Overton County Schools has extended its timeline for summer feeding opportunities.

Nutritional Supervisor Debie Taylor said that summer feeding typically ends in June.

“I’ve got three ladies that are willing to work the month of July,” Taylor said. “And I applied through the USDA for a feeding site at the high school and that was approved, so we are good to go.”

Taylor said that the meals will be delivered daily to Central Park and the city pool, and to the county library on Wednesdays and Thursdays through July 29th. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Taylor said that the meals are free to all Overton County kids aged 18 and under.
