Overton County Health And Rehab Cut Ribbon On New Addition

The doors opened at Overton County Health and Rehab’s new rehab center on Friday morning.

Officials from across the county gathered for the ribbon cutting before they toured the facility’s addition. Administrator Jennifer Bouldin said this addition was a blessing for an aging community.

“This day is just so special we’ve been working for this… I’ve actually been working on the project for about 6 years,” Bouldin said. “So I’m just so happy to be able to provide it to the community. We look forward to being able to have short-term rehab patients here.”

Bouldin said the addition will offer 20 new private rooms, therapy areas and new community areas for patients. Bouldin said having all the new areas within the facility is a help to staff who can better serve and rehabilitate patients.

“When I started in healthcare in 1993 as a certified nursing assistant I would have loved to have rooms like this,” Bouldin said. “To be able to provide care, to have room to move around. In the older buildings it’s just a little tighter. So having private rooms where families can meet privately with the patients, physicians it’s just an awesome thing.”

Bouldin said the therapy areas include a new rehab gym, occupational therapy area and speech area. She said a new living and dining areas have been built to create a better sense of community within the facility.
