The Overton County School Board will see two new member.
Wayne Taylor defeated Mike Sullivan for the second district seat with a count of 457-184. Mitchell Stonecipher ran unopposed and will take over the fourth district seat once held by Howard Miller.
The remainder of the winners ran unopposed. Incumbent Cara Boone will remain Assessor of Property with 1,954 votes. Incumbent Gail Mccowan received 1,931 votes for the third district county commission seat.
Highway Superintendent will stay the same with Incumbent James Norrod receiving 2,168 votes. Incumbent Mike Hayes will keep his seat on the school board for the first district with 311 votes. The third district school board seat will remain with William Abston. And Jarman Hicks was re-elected to the fifth district seat with 401 votes.
Overton County had 2,863 voters participate in this year’s election making the turnout rate 20 percent.
