Overton Commission Fills Frank Martin’s Seat With Familiar Face

The Overton County Commission has filled the vacant seat left by the passing of Frank Martin.

In an 8-3 vote Monday night, commissioners selected Cindy Robbins to represent Livingston in District One. Robbins said she is coming back to local government, previously spending four years on the commission and eight years as an aldermen.

“I missed it, I did,” Robbins said. “My husband passed away in 2017, so I had got out for a while but I’m back.”

Robbins said her priority for returning to the commission is simply to make Overton County the best that it can be. Robbins was one of three candidates who presented their platform the commission on Monday night.

Robbins said she was born and raised in the county, considering at an honor to once again serve on the commission.
