Overton Clerk Office Settled In New Location

Overton County residents have a new location to make county bill payments.

The County’s Clerk office has moved into the Millard Oakley County Services Building. The office is located at 306 West Main Street across the road from Winningham Hardware. County Clerk Victoria Looper said employees have settled in and are ready to serve.

“We have a lot more space for our customers to be separated,” Looper said. “They can also if they don’t feel comfortable coming in, our hall is very big, and they can see into the building. When one customer leaves, they can come in. We feel like we are working very efficiently.”

Looper said the office has several different options other than in-person payments. Residents needing to renew vehicle tags can conduct business either by phone call or online.

“Anybody can give us a call at our phone number at (931)-823-2631, we would be happy to renew over the telephone,” Looper said. “They can go online to tntagsanytime.com. They got that option as well.”

Looper said hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Overton officials began moving into the new building in November.

“We are excited to serve the people of our county,” Looper said.
