Theatre and history lovers have the opportunity to see an original play about Cookeville starting Thursday night.
Cookeville Museums Manager Beth Thompson said that “Round Trip” is set in town one week after the events of Pearl Harbor. She said that the show features a mixture of real people and fictional characters.
“It’s so cool because when you’re hearing the stories about some of these people, I know some of their family members,” Thompson said. “You just think to yourself that these people were really in this building that we’re right outside of, and that all of this stuff actually transpired.”
Thompson said that there is something special about hearing from the actual families of characters in the show.
Thompson said that the play was originally written by a museum employee in 2001. She said that this is the third time the play is being produced. The show will run Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at CPAC.
