Emergency officials in the Upper Cumberland are warning drivers of potentially icy road conditions in the region.
Cumberland County EMA Director Rick Williams reports several accidents have occurred on I-40 between Crab Orchard and the Cumberland-Roane County line.
Williams says cooler temperatures in the east side of the county have caused freezing rain along roadways in that area. Conditions are expected to clear up by noon.
Jackson County E-911 reported Thursday morning that several bridges over Roaring River were covered in ice, but emergency crews have since treated the roadways.
Officials urge drivers to use caution if they come across icy road conditions.
