No T-DOT Expansion Plan Movement for Cookeville’s Spring Street

T-DOT does not have any expansion plans in development for Cookeville’s Spring Street.

Cookeville Officials expressed concerns about traffic issues at a recent work work session. Spokesperson Jennifer Flynn said there is no movement currently on a request sent from the city in 2019.

“If people support this project then that would be good too,” Flynn said. “To just make sure that the RPO and T-DOT are aware that this project has a lot of support.”

Flynn said that Cookeville’s taken the first step, but the best course of action is to continue working with the RPO and T-DOT Community Transportation.

Flynn said that often the best course of action for cities and counties are to target smaller projects that are easier to get budgeted. The roadway that Cookeville requested for widening was from East Broad Street to Highway 111.
