Cookeville Police do not have a suspect at this time related to Wednesday morning’s shooting on North Franklin Avenue.
Captain Darrin Stout said a person of interest in the case was questioned but was later released. Stout said that the last update on the 22-year old victim is that they are in stable condition after being shot twice.
Stout said the department is in need of any information from the community about whether they saw the suspect.
“The description we were given yesterday, is that it would be a white male, approximately 5’8″ in height,” Stout said. “He was wearing black pants, an orange sweat shirt, blue gloves, a toboggan and sunglasses.”
Stout said that suspect fled on foot, and do not know the direction he was travelling or if he left to enter a vehicle. The shooting occurred in the 700 block of North Franklin Avenue, just after 7:00 AM.
