No Injuries After Tractor-Trailer Fire on I-40

No one was injured after a tractor-trailer fire shut down I-40 eastbound near Monterey Thursday afternoon.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Scott Stanfield, of Kentucky, pulled his truck on the side of the interstate when he noticed smoke from the passenger side of the cabin. Upon further inspection, Stanfield discovered flames coming from passenger side of the truck and called for help.

The THP report indicates the truck was fully engulfed by the time emergency crews arrived on scene.

According to the Putnam County Fire Department, the truck was a total loss. Stanfield was uninjured by the fire.
