No injuries were reported following a house fire on East 16th Street in Cookeville Monday morning.
Cookeville Fire Chief Daryl Blair said crews first received the call around 7:30 a.m.
“There’s quite a bit of damage to a couple of bedrooms, so it’s going to take a while to redo them but I do think it can be fixed and hopefully they can get back in,” Blair said.
Blair said all occupants were outside of the house once crews arrived on scene.
“There was some [oxygen] bottles that we were a little worried with at first when we got in, but they were no danger to them,” Blair said. “The guys did a good job of getting in there and getting it out quick.”
Blair said an investigation is still ongoing as to what may have caused the fire in the first place.
