Tennessee Tech will use its Veteran Reconnect funding on a new job.
Director of Military and Veteran Affairs Kevin Flanary said the university has been looking for ways to improve the review of Prior Learning Assessments. Those give adults college credit for their work experience, including military experience. Veterans receive a transcript from the military, Flanary said.
“This grant’s going to help provide a full-time position of PLA coordinator and they will review these transcripts of military vets,” Flanary said.
The hiring process will begin soon, he said.
TTU received some $71,000 in Veteran Reconnect funds this week. Flanary said this is the third year TTU has received the grant.
