New Email Scam Shows County Executive As Sender

A new scam in Warren County as residents Thursday began getting apparent emails from Warren County Executive Terry Bell.

But Bell did not send the emails.

Bell said in an open letter to residents that the scammer asked for gift cards to be purchased and a meeting setup to exchange cash for the gift cards.

The emails began appearing early Thursday morning using an email that began with the address MYOR.

Bell said residents should report any future emails of this type to his office. He said you can also report the information to the FBI. He reminded residents that county government would not solicit residents in this fashion at any point.
