New Auto Parts Store Opens In Celina

A locally owned auto parts store has opened in Celina.

Chris Hix and his son Derek have opened H and H Auto Parts on East Brown Street and Highway 52.

The elder Hix said the store will offer a fill line of automotive parts, agricultural lines, fleet semi parts, and custom hydraulic hoses.

“I hope it generates a lot of tax revenue for the county and city and provides some good services for the citizens,” Hix said. “Hopefully folks will buy locally and it can benefit the county and city in that way as well.”

The building has sat empty since Family Dollar relocated two years ago. Hix purchased it back in February and began making a few exterior and interior renovations.

“We’ve put some new metal and paint on the outside and redid the flooring on the inside,” Hix said. “We’ve still got some new signage to add on the building, along with the pole sign outside.”

LED lighting and new metal shelves have also been added.

Operations began with a few test runs last week and Monday marked the first official day of business.

“Our first goal is primarily to learn what we can with the business and get our feet on the ground with offering good customer service,” Hix said. “So far, for a new business we feel like things have gone well.”

Hix said he’s looking forward to running a business with Derek. The two have been looking to open an auto parts business for quite some time.

“I feel like it’s a good thing working with someone that you can count on and know so well,” Hix said. “We get along good and it feels good to be doing this.”
