Morristown Man Arrested in Cookeville for Theft

A Morristown man charged with theft was found after police discovered he left his cell phone at the scene.

Jeremy Arrington, 30, was booked into the Putnam County Jail Monday evening on $1,500 bond.

According to the arrest warrant, security footage showed Arrington taking a phone from the Sprint store on South Willow Avenue in Cookeville Sunday. The phone was valued at $912.

Cookeville Police were able to track down Arrington after an officer discovered he left his phone at the store. Arrington was later arrested once police found him at Best Western with the stolen phone.

Arrington is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 1.
