Between three and four thousand customers of Caney Fork Electric remain without power Monday night.
“While we have had a productive day of restoring power to our members following the severe storms, there is no possibility that we will be able to get the lights back on tonight,” General Manager Bill Rogers said. “In my 35 years at CFEC, this weather event has resulted in more broken poles than any storm that we have encountered.”
Rogers said the hardest hit areas continue to be in northwest Warren County, southern Dekalb County and southern White County.
With sunset approaching, Rogers said crews will return to work early Tuesday morning.
“We beg for and appreciate the patience of our members as we work to restore your power,” Rogers said. “Nothing is more important than our responsibility to you and we will do everything we can to get your lights back on quickly.”
