Monterey Officials Pass Budget Draft

Monterey officials passed the first and second reading of its upcoming fiscal year budget last night.

The budget includes funding for a new fire truck, three new police vehicles, and a new leaf vacuum for the sanitation department.

The property tax rate will remain unchanged at a $1.33. All city employees would get a 3-percent raise under the proposed budget.

Third and final reading of the budget will take place next month.
