Monterey Mayor Bill Wiggins says he’s running for re-election in 2018.
“When I first ran back in 2014 I had taken a long look at my hometown and wrote down some specific goals that I would like to see obtained and a lot of those haven’t come to full bloom yet,” Wiggins said. “I’m sort of like a mother hen, I want to keep sitting on the eggs until they all hatch.”
Wiggins said if re-elected, his goals would be continuing work on Whitacker Park and the development of Meadow Creek Park. He also wants to address the need for sewer system improvements, including a new sewer plant.
Wiggins will be seeking his third two year term as Mayor. He’ll be going up against Alderman J.J. Reels, who announced his candidacy for Mayor of Monterey earlier this week.
