A Tuesday morning crash has claimed the life of a Monterey resident.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the deceased as 38-year-old Banjamin Bohannon.
Officials said the crash happened around 11:00 a.m. on Muddy Pond Road.
According to the THP crash report, Bohannon was driving North when his 2003 Mazda crossed the center line at the top of a hill. Bohannon’s Mazda collided head-on with a 2002 Chevy, driven by 18-year-old Nehemiah Horst of Monterey. Horst was not injured during the crash.
The THP did not issue any citations or charges following the crash and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
