Monterey Man Facing Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

A Monterey man faces several charges following a traffic stop Saturday.

A Tennessee Highway Patrolman conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to maintain lane.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Jarius Darnell Lemons, allegedly had 600 pills in bottles belonging to another person. The trooper also located $335 in cash and a gaming system belonging to a woman in Monterey.

Authorities have charged Lemons with possession of a controlled substance and theft of property. He’s behind bars under $24,000 bond.
