Monterey, Livingston Seasons End

The basketball season ended for the Upper Cumberland Friday afternoon as the Monterey Wildcats and the Livingston Academy Wildcats lost in the state boys semifinals.

Monterey fell to Loretto out of West Tennessee by a 69-63 final in the 1A Semifinals. The Wildcats finished the season 31-7.

Tyrus West finished with 17 for Monterey with Michael Cody adding 15. The Wildcats trailed through most of the game, hitting just 8 of 24 three-point shots.

Livingston Academy found scoring difficult against Memphis Hamilton, falling 81-36 in the 2A Semifinals Friday. The Wildcats shot just 21 percent for the game, hitting only 3 of 18 three point shots. Livingston Academy turned it over 21 times, scoring fewer than ten points in each of the first three quarters.

Matthew Sells led the Wildcats with 11 points. Livingston Academy ended the season 26-10.
