Monterey Lions Seek Harvey Volunteers

The Monterey Lions Club Disaster Response Team needs a few good people.

Director Ken Hall said the group’s looking for some folks to help rebuild in Texas.

“Putnam County, I’m sure, is wanting to help, everybody’s wanting to help, some organization needs to coordinate it up there, and get everything together, I’ve checked with all my people and of course, we’re all old guys,” Hall said.

Hall and the team has been in Texas since Saturday. He said the team has now joined up with Stormpoint, a group of relief workers from Smyrna.

“There’s still flooding there’s still rescues underway, but the rain has quit and the sun came out for a little bit yesterday evening. Things are looking better in Houston,” Hall said.

To volunteer, contact Hall through the group’s Facebook page or call him at 931-239-3318.

To donate money to support the group’s efforts, drop it off or mail it to the Monterey Depot, 1 East Depot St., Monterey.
