Monterey has completed repairing a leaking roof at city hall.
Monterey Mayor Bill Wiggins said repairs to the building will come next.
“The water began to leak into the meeting hall in two places,” Wiggins said. “There was a little damage to the ceiling and part of one wall. Two windows also leaked pretty badly and that will require some repair too.”
Wiggins said roof began deteriorating overtime which caused the leak to occur. He said the city chose to repair the roof rather than replace it, which saved the city about half of the cost for replacing the roof.
