Cumberland County will limit access to county office buildings beginning Friday.
County Mayor Allen Foster said access will be by appointment only.
“Each office may have slightly different procedures for handling access, so please call the office you need to visit to get an appointment and to get more information concerning access,” Foster said.
Foster said the measures will be in effect through April 3. Foster reminded citizens to reach out via phone or email if they need more information.
Emergency services remain available and the health department will stay open, Foster said.
New measures will go into effect Monday in Monterey according to Mayor Bill Wiggins. The lobby at city hall will be closed with the drive thru available for bill payment as well as the after-hours deposit.
“We are all soldiers in this effort,” Wiggins said. “Please, follow CDC guidelines and public health instructions as we all assume personal responsibility and get through this difficult time.”
Wiggins said business can be completed online, by phone or fax.
The Depot Museum will be closed. The April 4 Monterey Easter Egg Hunt has been postponed.
Monterey will also waive cut-offs and penalties for water customers struggling because of job loss.
