A 20-year-old man has died following a traffic accident in Jackson County Monday.
The deceased identified as William B. Tucker of Gainesboro.
According to officials, Tucker was traveling south on Stacey Cemetery Road when he attempted to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a tree.
Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 37-year-old passenger, identified as Robert J. Lee, suffered injuries but his condition remains unknown.
Authorities said Tucker was drinking at the time of the crash and not wearing a seat belt.
