Missing Clay Co. Woman Safe, But Not Home Yet

Missing Clay County 24-year-old Tikela Nicole Pickering has been in contact with her mother.

Clay County Sheriff Brandon Boone said Pickering was first reported missing last week. She went missing from her home off of Tompkinsville Highway. It was suspected she left with an individual she met online and had recently gone to see in person.

“She’s nearby but wouldn’t tell exactly where she’s at,” Boone said. “She gave a description of the house she’s at and of the vehicle. She said she’s okay, she’s not wanting to return home right now.”

Boone said there is still concern about Pickering’s well-being because at this point it is unknown if she is taking her medication. He said because she is an adult, there is not much the department can do to get her home.

Boone said they still ask that if the public sees her in person, to give the department a call. He said they would like to talk to her face-to-face rather than over the phone.
