Methadone Clinic Hearing Delayed Till August

The state hearing on a proposed methadone clinic for Putnam County has been delayed until August.

Cedar Recovery wants to open a facility along Burgess Falls Road, just outside the Cookeville City Limits. The proposal must be approved by the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission. The July hearing on the proposal has been delayed, according to a state official, because of a logistical issue.

That issue is unrelated to the Cedar Recovery hearing.

The commission regulates health care facilities of different types through Certificates of Need. That permit, once granted, allows for the establishment of a facility in a designated area.

The new hearing date is August 28.
