Meet The Candidates: Deck Wants To Help Young People

Meet Josh Deck, one of four candidates for three seats on the Livingston Board of Alderman.

Deck said he has been a part of the community for over 40 years. As an alderman, he wants to provide the youth of Livingston more activities by expanding the cities parks and recreations.

“I have grown up around these kids in Livingston and helping them by coaching baseball, and just get involved and see if we can get some stuff for these kids to do in the city,” Deck said.

Deck said providing more opportunity for the youth will make Livingston a more attractive city for businesses. If Deck wins a spot on the board, he wants to be a voice for the people who want to see Livingston grow economically.

“I see this town growing,” Deck said. “Mayor Hayes, he has done a great job for the years he has been in office. I would like to see more opportunities for businesses and employment here in Livingston.”

Josh Deck currently works for Twin Lakes. In the past, Deck worked as a coach for the Overton County Outlaws football team, coached city league baseball, umpired at city park, and refereed youth basketball.

Livingston’s Municipal Election will be held Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce.
