Medical Appointments Still Available In Jamestown

Remote Area Medical will be in Jamestown this weekend and there are still free medical appointments available.

Remote Area Medical CEO Jeff Eastman said residents do not need an ID or insurance to get service at the clinic. Eastman said No matter where these clinics go, they are trying to address the same health care problems.

“It’s not an Appalachian issue, it’s an issue that we have with health care in the United States,” Eastman said. “There’s just so much demand for health care and so little resources that people have in order to take care of themselves.”

The clinic will run Saturday and Sunday at the Jamestown Supercenter and medical appointments can be made by calling 865-500-8555.

The pop-up clinic will also be offering free eyeglasses to anyone with a valid prescription dated within the last year, no appointment is needed to get new glasses.

There are also virtual appointments available, information on that is available at www.ramusa.org/ram-telehealth/.
