The city of McMinnville wants to hire a full time Community Development Director after leaving the position vacant for the past two years.
HR Manager Libby Rutledge said when City Administrator Nolan Ming was promoted from that position, he assumed both roles.
“During COVID, a lot of development slowed down, so it wasn’t that busy,” Rutledge said. “Since then, a lot of expansions, renovations, developing is going on, so we have found it necessary to fill the role.”
Rutledge said applications are being accepted through June 18th with the interviewing process lasting until mid July. Rutledge said the director performs numerous tasks from regulating zoning codes to city flood management.
“This position is a great partner with city departments, community development department, home owners,” Rutledge said. “They really focus on coordination of land and building development with our local developers and contractors.”
Rutledge said the position plays an important role in the community’s growth by seeking out projects for unused land.
“It is very critical for the city of McMinnville, and we’re hoping to find some really great, qualified candidates,” Rutledge said.
