The City Of McMinnville adopted a new COVID-19 action plan at its Wednesday meeting.
Beginning Thursday, all public walk-in services and lobbies are closed. This includes access to City Hall, the McMinnville Police and Fire Departments, and all parks and recreation facilities.
“These short- term measures will build upon our resiliency and strength,” City Administrator Nolan Ming said. “We have one goal in mind – to mitigate the possible spread of the disease and avoid a longer term risk to our community.”
Ming said city staff will continue to be available via phone and online. Water bills can be paid at drop boxes located at 101 East Main Street and 202 Bell Street. You can also pay water bills or taxes at https://new.nexbillpay.net/mcminnville. Traffic tickets can be paid via a dropbox at the police department.
The Board of Mayor And Aldermen adopted a four-tiered response to COVID-19 Wednesday. The city currently is in the tier-two phase. Employees will be directed to stay home (or go home) if they or any family member they live with is exhibiting any symptoms, or if they are high risk. Employees staying home will not be required to use sick leave, but will treat it as regular pay. All city meetings and events are cancelled except those that can be done via teleconference. Public events in city-owned facilities are suspended. Teleworking and staggered shifts are authorized.
