Mason Retiring From Planning Commission

Putnam County Planning Commission Chair Jere Mason retiring from the commission.

Mason announced his retirement at the tail end of Tuesday’s planning commission meeting. Mason said he enjoyed his time as commission chair but it was time for him to be done.

“I chose not to be reappointed to this committee after tonight,” Mason said. “I won’t be your chairman anymore but I thank you for the privilege and the honor of serving such an elite group. They are just top notch and I thank you for that. I’ve enjoyed it but I’m tired.”

Many commissioners thanked Mason for his service and said he would be missed. Mason ended his last meeting with a motion to adjourn.
