A DeKalb County Judge has sentenced a man to prison after he was caught during a home invasion and held at gunpoint by the homeowner.
47-year-old Homer Anthony Petty will serve 14-years in prison after entering a plea to aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000.
Authorities said in October of last year a family returned to their Givens Hollow Road home to find Petty and another man stealing a rifle and other items.
The homeowner managed to wrestle Petty to the ground and hold him at gunpoint until police arrived on scene.
Petty will have to serve at least 45-percent of his term because of prior felony convictions against him.
