A tractor trailer and a motorcycle collided Saturday afternoon on Interstate 40 blocking traffic for several Hours.
47-year-old Jason Barley of Springfield merged onto I-40 westbound from exit 268 just after Noon. Barley, driving a motorcycle, failed to yield according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, colliding with a truck driven by 56-year old James Franklin of Granite Falls, NC. The motorcycle ran off the roadway and Barley was ejected. He was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center by helicopter for treatment.
The THP filed no charges in the incident. The accident backed up westbound I-40 traffic for several hours.
