Man Arrested In Smithville For Cookeville Kidnapping

A man accused of kidnapping and sexual battery in Cookeville has been arrested by the Smithville Police Department.

Twenty-Nine-Year-Old Tyler Justin Hall was located at the Smithville Dollar General Sunday, one day after he kidnapped two Sam’s Club employees.

The two were approached by Hall in the parking lot of Cookeville’s Sam’s Club. Hall allegedly displayed a handgun, ordered the pair into the female’s vehicle and told the male to drive to White County.

The three neared White County Walmart when the male victim wrestled the gun away. Hall then fled from the scene.

Hall was arrested for understanding warrants for one count of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping. Hall was transported to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.
